Just in time for the new school year, Hanover’s Around Town on the Web
\n(ATOTW) is back! Please accept my apologies to all of you who sent me your
\ne-blast requests this summer that did not go out due to my medical leave.
\nThe good news is that I am recovering, albeit more slowly than I
\nanticipated or would prefer – ha! I hope to be able to handle all of your
\nupcoming requests going forward. <\/p>\n
As a reminder, here are some answers to some frequently asked questions
\nabout ATOTW:<\/p>\n
What will you send \u201cAround Town on the Web\u201d?<\/p>\n
Please know that I am a volunteer who is simply joyfully providing a
\nservice to my community. I send information regarding:
\nNon-profit events in Hanover
\nEvents sponsored by Hanover non-profit organizations
\nThe Town of Hanover\u2019s municipal government
\nContested town elections (candidate information must be brief and unbiased)
\nFor-profit organizations which are providing a free community service to
\nHanover residents – occasionally. I do ask that for-profits use traditional
\npaid-for advertising.
\nIndividual Hanover residents in need (but not lost and found animals \u2013
\nplease post them on Facebook)
\nSignificant Hanover happenings and milestones
\nCommunity safety issues<\/p>\n
If something I send is not of interest to you, just hit delete! I make
\nconnections, provide a resource, and bring people together. I shout good
\nnews from the rooftops! I hope that I encourage you to get involved, stay
\ninvolved, and help to make Hanover the tremendous, affectionate, and united
\nsmall town that it already is and will certainly continue to be with your
\ndevoted participation.<\/p>\n
How do I submit something to \u201cAround Town on the Web\u201d?<\/p>\n
Please write your information in a press-release format – include who,
\nwhat, where, how, when, and why, and send it so that I can simply cut and
\npaste and send it along.
\nPlease include a contact name AND e-mail address in the information slated
\nto go out in case recipients have further questions. Phone numbers are also
\nhelpful, but not a “must”. E-mail addresses are a “must”.
\nPlease only send Word documents or information embedded in an e-mail. Most
\neverything else does not cut and paste well and therefore does not read
\nwell once it goes out.
\nWe have the capability to send .pdf’s as attachments. Please also submit
\nsome text to go in the e-mail that accompanies the attached .pdf.

\nWe reserve the right to edit anything we send out, and also the right to
\nrefuse to send something out entirely.
\nYour information will usually go out within a week of my receipt unless you
\nrequest a delay. Please plan your promotional campaigns accordingly.
\nWe also have the capability to schedule the date and time that an e-mail
\nwill go out. So, for instance, if your e-mail is complementing a
\nlong-running Facebook post, you may wish for the ATOTW e-mail to serve as a
\nreminder a few days or a week before the event.
\nWe don’t send reminders or slightly revised updates. We clog up people’s
\nin-boxes enough as it is! All ATOTW postings are also available in the
\narchives for later reference by the residents of Hanover. <\/p>\n
I look forward to getting back in the swing of things and connecting all of
\nus to each other via ATOTW. Enjoy what is left of the summer in the
\nmeantime!<\/p>\n
