Five non-auditioned choirs welcome new singers<br \/>\nbeginning in September, under the direction of founding Artistic Director<br \/>\nKirsten Oberoi.  Joyful, positive encouragement and an uplifting<br \/>\nenvironment inspire choristers to learn and embrace confidence through<br \/>\ntheir own voice.<\/p>\n<p>SSCC\u2019s Training Choir engages students in grades K through 2 by<br \/>\ndeveloping their musicality and voices through song games, movement and<br \/>\nlistening. Choristers graduate from the Training Choir loving the use of<br \/>\ntheir voices, confident in their sound, understanding pitch-matching<br \/>\nskills, basic vocal technique and beginning ear training. The ensemble<br \/>\nperforms at annual SSCC performances and occasionally at community events.<br \/>\nTraining Choir meets weekly on Tuesdays in Hanover. Singers are required to<br \/>\nattend weekly rehearsals, as well as one or two All-Together rehearsals per<br \/>\nsemester on Sunday afternoons, combining all Training Choir campuses in<br \/>\nHanover, Sharon and Quincy.<\/p>\n<p>SSCC\u2019s Intermediate Choir trains students in grades 3 through 6 to<br \/>\ndevelop self-confidence through the medium of vocal music, learn<br \/>\nmusicianship skills, begin singing in two or three parts and solidify<br \/>\nhealthy vocal technique. Choristers graduate from the Intermediate Choir<br \/>\nappreciating the warm and loving community cultivated in choir<br \/>\nparticipation, as independent singers confident with the sound of their own<br \/>\nvoice, and the ability to follow music well. The ensemble performs at<br \/>\nannual SSCC performances and community performances throughout the season.<br \/>\nIntermediate Choir meets weekly on Tuesdays in Hanover. Singers are<br \/>\nrequired to attend weekly rehearsals, as well as one All-Together rehearsal<br \/>\nper month on Sunday afternoons, combining all Intermediate Choir campuses<br \/>\nin Hanover, Sharon and Quincy.<\/p>\n<p>SSCC\u2019s Advanced Choir allows students in grades 7 through 12 to engage in<br \/>\nan honest and accepting community of passionate singers, develop<br \/>\nsight-singing skills, sing challenging and unique repertoire and study<br \/>\nvocal technique through performance and rehearsal of a variety of musical<br \/>\ngenres. Choristers graduate from the Advanced Choir as beautiful and kind<br \/>\nhumans and inspired choral leaders.  They are ready to participate in<br \/>\nchoirs at the professional or college level, and exemplify respectful<br \/>\nbehavior in a choral rehearsal, model advanced vocal technique and<br \/>\nmanagement, and demonstrate impressive sight-singing and music theory<br \/>\nskills. As a premiere SSCC ensemble, the Advanced Choir performs at annual<br \/>\nSSCC performances and community performances throughout the season. <\/p>\n<p>South Shore Children\u2019s Chorus\u2019s mission is to provide joyful music<br \/>\neducation and vocal training to students in South Shore communities and<br \/>\nbeyond. SSCC reveres the development and well-being of its students as a<br \/>\ntop priority, aiming to create a safe space and loving community for<br \/>\nchoristers to learn, grow and to find their own voice.  Its programs serve<br \/>\ndedicated, responsible singers ages 4 to 18 who seek a well-rounded choral<br \/>\neducation. SSCC is passionate about access for all chorister students,<br \/>\nregardless of financial circumstance.
