{"id":3735,"date":"2021-09-06T09:45:07","date_gmt":"2021-09-06T13:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3735"},"modified":"2021-09-06T09:45:07","modified_gmt":"2021-09-06T13:45:07","slug":"community-arts-science-and-humanities-grants-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3735","title":{"rendered":"Community Arts, Science and Humanities grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>Apply now for community arts grants through the Hanover Cultural Council;<br \/>\nproposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs are<br \/>\ndue October 15!<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever wondered what happens with the funds raised at Hanover Day?<br \/>\nMoney from our annual celebration, plus Hanover\u2019s share of state cultural<br \/>\nfunds, is used to support arts, science, and humanities projects throughout<br \/>\nthe year. <\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council has set an October 15, 2021 deadline for<br \/>\norganizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants to fund<br \/>\ncultural activities in Hanover. These grants can support a variety of arts,<br \/>\nscience, and humanities projects, including exhibits, festivals, field<br \/>\ntrips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops,<br \/>\nand lectures. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s allocation to Hanover from the Massachusetts Cultural Council<br \/>\n(MCC) is $7,100, and additional funds are available thanks to the past<br \/>\nsuccess of Hanover Day. The Council will meet later this fall to review the<br \/>\napplications and award the grants. The MCC has updated its website and the<br \/>\nprocess is slightly different this year \u2013 all applications must be<br \/>\nsubmitted online. <\/p>\n<p>A webinar will be held on September 9 for applicants to introduce the new<br \/>\nplatform and procedures. Register at<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"xe3puMn2Z0\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/massculturalcouncil.org\/artists-art\/gallery\/\">Gallery<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Gallery&#8221; &#8212; Mass Cultural Council\" src=\"https:\/\/massculturalcouncil.org\/artists-art\/gallery\/embed\/#?secret=dsmLIqjlRf#?secret=xe3puMn2Z0\" data-secret=\"xe3puMn2Z0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Past events have included the Summer Concert Series by the Parks and<br \/>\nRecreation Department, the Drama Club programs at South Shore Vo-Tech,<br \/>\nfunding for the Hanover Performing Arts Company, painting Workshops, Museum<br \/>\nof Science Outreach program at Cedar Elementary School, several museum<br \/>\npasses and children\u2019s programs at the John Curtis Library, and<br \/>\nsponsorships of programs for the Walnut Hill Garden Club, South Shore<br \/>\nNatural Science Center, Hanover senior center, and many others. <\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural<br \/>\nCouncils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The state<br \/>\nlegislature provides an annual appropriation to the MCC, a state agency,<br \/>\nwhich then allocates funds to each community.
