Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The following statement is just in from the Hanover Unity Council. It is
\ncopied and pasted as it was submitted to Around Town on the Web. There is
\nan attachment from the HUC for your review, also.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope this finds you healthy and happy as we near the end of 2021,
\nanother often difficult year.<\/p>\n
Many of you are aware that an optional Anti-Bias Leadership program as well
\nas a program supported by Raising Multicultural Kids were started in the
\nhigh school and elementary schools, respectively. The HHS program is
\nfunded by a grant in partnership with Boston University and the
\nAnti-Defamation League. The high school level program is already being
\ntaught in 77 Massachusetts cities and towns. Unfortunately, a group of
\nHanover parents and citizens has brought loud protests against this
\nprogram. At this time, due to many factors including the backlash, the
\nprograms have been put on hold.<\/p>\n
The Hanover Unity Council stands in strong support of both the Anti-Bias
\nLeadership Program and the Raising Multicultural Kids program that is set
\nto resume in 2022.<\/p>\n
On the attached pages, you will find our statement and petition in support
\nof the programs. We are planning to submit the statement and signatures to
\nthe School Committee. If you are a Hanover resident and are in support of
\nthe programs, we ask that you print and manually sign the petition and
\nreturn to us by January 3. If you would like to collect additional
\nsignatures, we welcome your help as well. Please scan and email to

We hold our monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Please
