Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that 2022 Town
\nof Hanover dog licenses are now available on-line, via the front door mail
\nslot, by US mail, or in the Town Clerk\u2019s Office. Due to increasingly
\nhigher COVID-19 positivity rates and reduced staffing in the Town Clerk\u2019s
\nOffice, residents are kindly encouraged to license their dogs without
\ncoming into the building. The licensing period is January 1, 2022 \u2013
\nMarch 31, 2022, and a $10 late fee applies beginning April 1, 2022. All
\ndogs over the age of 6 months are required by law to be licensed. The
\nlicense is good for one year, and costs $10 for spayed or neutered dogs,
\nand $15 for intact dogs. Residents over the age of 70 will be given a free
\nlicense for their rabies-vaccinated dog upon proof of the owner\u2019s age. <\/p>\n
There are several easy and socially-distant ways to license your dog. <\/p>\n

\nand are simply re-registering an existing dog, you can retrieve your
\naccount by entering your first name, last name, house number and then by
\nselecting a street name from the drop-down menu. You must enter the
\ninformation exactly how it was registered on the system in order to
\nretrieve your account. If found, you have to confirm your pet(s) name and
\nthen you can enter an email and create a password. This will save you
\nhaving to upload existing rabies or spay\/neuter certificates! It will also
\nprevent duplicate and therefore confusing records. If you already have a
\n\u201cGoPetie\u201d (Hanover dog license) account, go to the log-in page here

\nand log-in with your e-mail address and password to access your account and
\nre-license your dog. Your tag will be mailed to you upon our acceptance of
\nyour application and successful payment.<\/p>\n
\u2022\tResidents may also fill out the dog license application that is found
\non the Town Clerk\u2019s section of the Town of Hanover\u2019s website at:

\ndropped in the front door mail slot or US mailed in with your payment,
\nproof of current rabies vaccination and proof of spaying or neutering (if
\nyou have not submitted that information previously) to: Town Clerk\u2019s
\nOffice, 550 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA 02339, and your tag will be mailed
\nback to you. <\/p>\n
Unlicensed dogs are subject to a minimum of a $25 fine, with an additional
\n$25 fine if unleashed and another fine of $50 if unvaccinated for rabies.
