Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced today that nomination
\npapers are now available for the Annual Town Election scheduled to be held
\nMay 7th, 2022. Due to a reduction in staffing in the Town Clerk\u2019s
\nOffice, interested candidates need to personally send an e-mail or make an
\nappointment to pull papers. <\/p>\n
\u201cElection Day is set for May 7th and signed nomination papers are due
\nMarch 18th, 2022. At this point in the year, there are a total of nine
\nanticipated open seats. On the ballot this spring will be elections for
\none member of the Select Board for a three year term, one member of the
\nSchool Committee for a three year term, one member of the Board of
\nAssessors for a three year term, one member of the Planning Board for a
\nfive year term, one Board of Health member for a three year term, one
\nTrustee of the Public Library for a three year term, one Trustee of the
\nPublic Library for a one-year remainder of an unexpired term, one Town
\nClerk for a term of three years, and one Moderator for a one year term\u201d,
\ncontinued Harder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Town Clerk\u2019s Office,
\nany of the related departments, or sitting members of the board or
\ncommittee they are interested in becoming a part of in order to gain more
\ninformation about an open position. <\/p>\n
To run for office, candidates only need to obtain 50 signatures of
\nregistered Hanover voters in order to be placed on the ballot. Candidates
\nfor office have until Friday, March 18th to submit the signed nomination
\npapers to the Registrar\u2019s Office for signature certification. Attached
