The Hanover Senior Center is presenting an educational program about
\ndementia. This program will to be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 4:30
\np.m. at the Center at 665 Center Street. Please sign-up using

Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people
\nthink, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer\u2019s Society
\nin the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends initiative is underway in
\nMassachusetts. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia
\nis and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people
\ntouched by dementia. <\/p>\n
To become a Dementia Friend, you participate in a one-hour Dementia Friends
\ninformation session offered by a Dementia Friends Champion. You will learn
\nfive key messages about dementia and a bit about what it\u2019s like to live
\nwith dementia. As a Dementia Friend, you turn your new understanding of
\ndementia into a practical action that can help someone with dementia living
\nin your community. Your action can be as big or as small as you choose \u2013
\nbecause every action counts! <\/p>\n
The goal of the Hanover COA staff is to train as many staff, residents, and
\nbusiness owners as possible, in Hanover and the surrounding towns, to
\nbecome Dementia Friends. <\/p>\n
Classes are held monthly on the last Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
