The Hanover Open Space Committee, along with partners Wildlands Trust, the
\nNorth and South River Watershed Association, and the Towns of Hanson and
\nPembroke, will celebrate the improvements made in the Indian Head River
\nTrail (IHRT) on Saturday, May 14 at Luddam’s Ford Park and Chapman’s
\nLanding. New signage, benches and boardwalks have made the loop trail
\nalong the river a beautiful destination!
\nA variety of activities for all ages and interests will take place
\nthroughout the day. The Open Space Committee hopes you will join them for
\na celebration of this wonderful resource found right in our town!<\/p>\n
All programs have limited capacity and require registration at:
\nbit.ly\/celebrateIHRT .<\/p>\n
8:00 – 10:00 Trail Run
\n Join Wildlands Trust, Altra &
\nMarathon Sports for a 5 mile run around the IHRT loop. Two guided pace
\ngroups
\n will be offered and Altra shoes
\nwill be available to demo. Meet at Luddam’s Ford.<\/p>\n
10:00 – 12:00 Flyfishing Seminar
\n Join NSRWA and Trout Unlimited
\nto learn the basics of flyfishing including an opportunity to try casting.
\n Equipment will be provided.
\nMeet at Luddam’s Ford.<\/p>\n
10:00 – 11:30 Paddle
\n Join NSRWA for a free 1 hour
\nguided kayak tour. Equipment will be provided. Explore the freshwater
\ntidal
\n ecosystem of the Indian Head
\nRiver. Meet at Hanover Canoe Launch (end of Indian Head Drive).<\/p>\n
10:30 – 12:00 Indian Head River Trail Walk
\n Join Hanover Open Space for a
\nwalk to Waterman Tack Factory. Enjoy a scenic walk and a visit the
\nhistoric
\n Waterman Tack factory, with a
\nrare chance to explore inside the restored mill works. Meet at Luddam’s
\nFord.<\/p>\n
1:00 – 2:30 Paddle
\n Join NSRWA for a free 1 hour
\nguided kayak tour. Equipment will be provided. Explore the freshwater
\ntidal
\n ecosystem of the Indian Head
\nRiver. Meet at Hanover Canoe Launch (end of Indian Head Drive).<\/p>\n
1:00 – 2:00 Chapman’s Landing Trail Walk
\n Explore trails out at Chapman’s
\nLanding on a guided hike. Highlights include new bog board installation
\nand
\n river views. Meet at Chapman’s
\nLanding (end of Indian Head Drive).<\/p>\n
1:00 – 2:30 Mountain Bike Ride
\n Join NEMBA for a guided
\nMountain Bike Ride around the IHRT loop. The ride will be approximately 6
\nmiles,
\n with no rider left behind!
\nParticipants must bring bikes and helmets. Meet at Luddam’s Ford.<\/p>\n
