St. Mary of the Portiuncula and Mary Queen of Peace Secular Franciscan
\nFraternities extend an invitation to share an afternoon of Prayer and
\nDevotions, followed by the Annual Outdoor Mass at the Portiuncula Chapel to
\ncelebrate The Feast of Our Lady of the Angels. On that day, the Faithful
\nwill be provided with the opportunity to complete the Indulgence conditions
\nfor this special Feast by visiting the Portiuncula Chapel and praying with
\nus. A description of the Devotions, the times, and the Conditions for
\nIndulgences are listed below. <\/p>\n
All are most welcome to come, to stay as long as you can, and, especially,
\nto share in the blessings of this day. Please share this invitation with
\nfamily and friends. <\/p>\n
Portiuncula Chapel Devotions: Cardinal Cushing Centers, Route 53, Hanover
\n3:00 p.m. – Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Chaplet of Divine Mercy
\n3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Sacrament of Reconciliation, on Chapel grounds and
\nRosary
\n5:35 p.m. – Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament\/ Benediction<\/p>\n
Annual Outdoor Mass to Honor Our Lady of the Angels:
\n6:30 p.m. – in the Chapel parking lot. If inclement weather, the Mass will
\nbe moved to St. Mary’s Church, Route 139, Hanover.<\/p>\n
Conditions for receiving Plenary Indulgences:
\nA Plenary Indulgence may be granted to those who are truly contrite and
\nmoved by the spirit of charity and wish to seek this Indulgence are to make
\na profession of faith (Apostle’s Creed) and observe the usual conditions:<\/p>\n
*Sacramentally confess their sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation;
\n*Participate in the celebration of and receive the Holy Eucharist at Mass;
\n*Recite at least 6 Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s, and Glory Be’s for the
\nintentions of the Holy Father, the Pope.<\/p>\n
(While these 3 Conditions may be fulfilled 5 days before or after the
\ncompletion of the indulgenced work, it is fitting that Communion be
\nreceived, the Prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, and the
\nProfession of Faith (Apostle’s Creed) be said on the same day.)<\/p>\n
