{"id":3884,"date":"2022-08-30T18:30:30","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T22:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3884"},"modified":"2022-08-30T18:30:30","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T22:30:30","slug":"community-arts-science-and-humanities-grant-proposals-sought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=3884","title":{"rendered":"Community Arts, Science and Humanities grant proposals sought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>Apply for community arts grants through the Hanover Cultural Council!<br \/>\nProposals for arts, humanities, and science programs are due October 17.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever wondered what happens with the funds raised at Hanover Day?<br \/>\nMoney from our annual celebration, plus Hanover\u2019s share of state cultural<br \/>\nfunds, is used to support arts, science, and humanities projects throughout<br \/>\nthe year.<\/p>\n<p>Between September 1 and October 17, 2022, the Hanover Cultural Council will<br \/>\naccept applications from organizations, schools, and individuals for grants<br \/>\nto fund cultural activities in Hanover. These grants can support a variety<br \/>\nof arts, science, and humanities projects, including exhibits, festivals,<br \/>\nfield trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools,<br \/>\nworkshops, and lectures. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s allocation to Hanover from the Massachusetts Cultural Council<br \/>\n(MCC) is $8,100, and additional funds are available thanks to the past<br \/>\nsuccesses of Hanover Day. The Council will meet later this fall to review<br \/>\nthe applications and award the grants.<\/p>\n<p>A webinar will be held on September 13 at 6:00 p.m. to review the<br \/>\napplication process. Register at<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"6QsxsMeK6y\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/massculturalcouncil.org\/artists-art\/gallery\/\">Gallery<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Gallery&#8221; &#8212; Mass Cultural Council\" src=\"https:\/\/massculturalcouncil.org\/artists-art\/gallery\/embed\/#?secret=u0sJY1e2F6#?secret=6QsxsMeK6y\" data-secret=\"6QsxsMeK6y\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Past events have included the Summer Concert Series by the Parks and<br \/>\nRecreation Department, the Drama Club programs at South Shore Vo-Tech,<br \/>\nfunding for the Hanover Performing Arts Company, painting workshops, Museum<br \/>\nof Science Outreach program at Cedar Elementary School, several museum<br \/>\npasses and children\u2019s programs at the John Curtis Library, and<br \/>\nsponsorships of programs for the Walnut Hill Garden Club, South Shore<br \/>\nNatural Science Center, Hanover senior center, and many others.<\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural<br \/>\nCouncils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The state<br \/>\nlegislature provides an annual appropriation to the MCC, a state agency,<br \/>\nwhich then allocates funds to each community.
