Yesterday&#8217;s early release from school for our  children<br \/>\nadded another layer of implication, too.&nbsp; What follows are some  tips I<br \/>\nheard from fellow residents that I thought bear repeating for all of  us:<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Review as a family what to do in case of  an<br \/>\nemergency&#8230;especially if an older child will be home  alone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Talk about who is generally home during  the day<br \/>\nin your neighborhood with your kids&#8230;so they know who to call if  they need<br \/>\nreassurance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Do you and your children have 911  &#8220;In Case<br \/>\nof an Emergency&#8221; on speed dial?&nbsp; Do your kids know your work  and<br \/>\ncell numbers?&nbsp; How about those neighbors&#8217; numbers?&nbsp; Are  all<br \/>\nthose numbers in their cell phone directories?<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Encourage your kids to never go anywhere  without<br \/>\na buddy&#8230;even if they are only playing in the  neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoListParagraph\"><span><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>The Hanover Parks and Recreation  Babysitting<br \/>\nCourse provides great &#8220;In Case of an Emergency&#8221; information  for both<br \/>\nbabysitters and older children who are given the freedom to stay home  alone.&nbsp;<br \/>\nContact the Parks and Recreation Department at 781-826-PLAY for future  course<br \/>\ndates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">Now is the time to have those conversations with  OUR kids.&nbsp;<br \/>\nAs they say, an ounce of prevention&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">For &quot;Around Town on the  Web&quot;,<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">Cathy H-B<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">&quot;Around Town on the Web&quot;
