It has come to my attention that information that was submitted to Around
\nTown on the Web and e-blasted last week was at the very least misleading,
\nif not outright incorrect. Please note that that the upcoming presentation
\nre-printed below is NOT being co-sponsored by the Town of Hanover. Since
\nthe information was submitted to ATOTW by the North and South Rivers
\nWatershed Association, I am re-running it and removing any previous
\nreference to area towns. Thanks to the folks that sent me the first press
\nrelease, and thanks to the folks who expressed their concerns about that
\npress release. I know we are all just trying to help!<\/p>\n
The North and South Rivers Watershed Association (NSRWA) invites residents
\nand others interested to learn more about the potential for reconnecting
\nand restoring the health of the Indian Head River (IHR). This information
\nsession will be held via Zoom.<\/p>\n
When: Thursday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m.
\nWhat: Last spring, the NSRWA received a grant to determine the feasibility
\nof removing the State Street Cross Street Dam (a.k.a. Indian Head Dam) and
\nLuddam\u2019s Ford Dam (a.k.a. Elm Street Dam a.k.a. Curtis Crossing Dam) in
\norder to restore fish habitat on the Indian Head River.<\/p>\n
There will be a short presentation on the project background and status,
\nand representatives from the following boards and organizations will be
\navailable to answer your questions:
\n– NSRWA
\n– IHR Restoration Steering Committee
\n– Project consultants
\n– MA DEP\u2019s Natural Resource Damages Program
\n– MA Division of Ecological Restoration
\n– MA Division of Fisheries & Wildlife<\/p>\n
