Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier announced that Friday, April
\n21st is the last day to register to vote in the May 1st Annual Town Meeting
\nand\/or in the May 13th Annual Town Election. The Hanover Town
\nClerk\u2019s\/Registrar\u2019s Office will be open until 5:00 p.m. on April 21st,
\nand on-line registration will be available until 11:59 p.m. that night.
\nPlease come to the Town Clerk\u2019s\/Registrar\u2019s side entrance lower-level
\ndoor if you need to register in person. Read on for on-line registration
\ninformation!<\/p>\n
Any Hanover citizen who will be eighteen on or before the first day of Town
\nMeeting (May 1st) or by the Town Election (May 13th) is encouraged to
\nregister to vote. Once registered, individuals will be eligible to vote in
\nall elections thereafter. Further, residents may \u201cpre-register\u201d to
\nvote if they are age 16 or 17, but they will not be eligible to vote until
\nthey turn 18.<\/p>\n
Citizens of Hanover may conveniently register to vote or change their party
\nstatus on-line, by mail or in person. The link for on-line registration is

\n\u201cMassachusetts Mail-In Voter Registration Form\u201d found here:

\nand mail the completed form to the Hanover Town Clerk\u2019s Office.
\nIf voters wish to register to vote in person, they may do so at two
\nconvenient locations: Hanover Town Hall or the Registry of Motor Vehicles. <\/p>\n
\u201cWith automatic registration now the law of the land in Massachusetts,
\nvery few people actually need to come in to register to vote\u201d, said
\nHarder-Bernier. \u201cHowever, what we do occasionally see is that people who
\nhave moved recently and\/or who have not updated their driver\u2019s license –
\nthose people do need to update their voter registration status. We also
\nsometimes see 18-year-olds who do not yet have driver\u2019s licenses who need
\nto register to vote. We look forward to helping those folks!\u201d, said
\nHarder-Bernier.<\/p>\n
