Candidates’ Night sponsored by the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors will take
\nplace on Tuesday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. Once again it will be held as a
\nZoom webinar. Candidates’ Night is an annual event hosted by the club that
\nfeatures candidates running for office in Hanover. The program consists of
\na short presentation by each candidate running for a town office followed
\nby a question-and-answer period led by moderator MaryAnn Brugnoli. The
\nforum is open to the public for viewing on Zoom or the Hanover cable
\nchannel 36 for Verizon and 8 for Comcast. This gives those attending a
\nchance to hear the views of the candidates on important issues affecting
\nthe town. Hearing the candidates in this setting will give town residents
\nthe opportunity to cast an educated vote during town elections on May 13. <\/p>\n
With 9 open positions for town office, it should prove to be a lively and
\ninformative night. The ballot will include open positions for the
\nfollowing:
\n2 members of the Select Board for a three-year term, 2 members of the
\nSchool Committee for a three-year term, one member of the Board of
\nAssessors for a three-year term, one member of the Planning Board for a
\nfive-year term, one Board of Health member for a three-year term, one
\nTrustee of the Public Library for a three-year term and one Moderator for a
\none-year term. <\/p>\n
The public may submit questions for the candidates to the club’s email
\naddress at hwcj1970@yahoo.com. Deadline for questions is April 19. <\/p>\n
