Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Children’s Summer Reading Program will officially start on Thursday,
\nJuly 6 at 11:00 a.m. with a performance by award-winning storyteller Davis
\nBates, and registration is open now.<\/p>\n
Entitled \u201cRaising Our Voices\u201d, the program will include songs and
\nstories about empowerment and the imagination from a variety of cultural
\ntraditions. Hear about a brave parrot and how coyote got his howl, among
\nother stories, and be prepared to sing, move and clap your hands. The
\nprogram will include plenty of sing-alongs, as well as a short lesson in
\nhow to play the spoons, and an appearance by an Irish dancing wooden dog
\nnamed Bingo.<\/p>\n
After the performance, children who wish to participate in the summer
\nreading program will be given reading logs to record their reading time and
\nearn rewards throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

\nin part by a grant from the Hanover Cultural Council, a local agency, which
\nis supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. For
