Hanover’s 2024 Annual Town Meeting will be held beginning on Monday, May
\n6th at Hanover High School, 287 Cedar Street. The evening will begin with
\na brief Special Town Meeting at 7:00 p.m. to close out 2024 Fiscal Year,
\nand then the Annual Town Meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\n. Of note is the potential override of the budget. The town has devised a
\nclever “override calculator” (kudos to those with the technical ability to
\nfigure this out!) page which will help you to see the impact of both the
\nbase budget and\/or the override budget on your taxes. Go to:

\nbrowser. All you have to do is type in your street name and address, and
\nyour estimated 2025 taxes will be displayed with and without the override.<\/p>\n
Check in will begin at 6:00 p.m. down near the Engineering\/Art wing of the
\nhigh school and voters will be able to access the check-in area from the
\nFRONT of the building. The main room of the meeting will be in the
\nauditorium, with the cafe set up as an overflow space as needed. If
\nnon-voters, including children, wish to attend Town Meeting, they are
\nkindly\/respectfully asked to sit in the overflow area in the cafeteria so
\nas to maximize seats for voters in the auditorium.<\/p>\n
As always, remote participation at a Town Meeting is not possible. You
\nmust be present to vote. The event will be simulcast on the Town’s Cable
\nTV and on FB Live.<\/p>\n

\non-line at that same link. For more information about voter registration,
\nplease contact the Town Clerk’s Office or the Board of Registrar’s Office.<\/p>\n
If we are unable to conclude all of the business before the town by the end
\nof the night, typically Night Two is the following evening, Tuesday, May
\n7th, but that is decided by the meeting at the end of the first night.
\nArticles decided upon on the first night are always potentially subject to
\na reconsideration vote on the second night. <\/p>\n
