The Hanover Town Clerk’s Office is already seeing a huge uptick in interest
\nsurrounding the Annual Town Election over prior years. Please see the
\nbelow information and updates to help you to make sure you are able to cast
\nyour ballot!<\/p>\n
Monday, May 13th at 5:00 p.m. is the last day and time to submit a Vote by
\nMail application to the Town Clerk’s Office. It has to be RECEIVED in the
\noffice by that day – not postmarked. The office will be open from 8:00
\na.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday to receive your applications! Vote by Mail is
\navailable to ANYONE without an excuse. <\/p>\n
Extra election staff have been hired to help cover the Town Clerk’s Office
\nfor just this coming week – May 13 – 17th. As a result, IF YOU QUALIFY for
\nan absentee ballot, unlike previous weeks, you may request one without an
\nappointment. You can vote by absentee ballot if:
\n–You will be away from Hanover on Election Day, May 18th
\n–You have a religious belief that prevents you from voting at your polling
\nlocation on Election Day or
\n–You have a disability that prevents you from voting at your polling
\nlocation
\nYou will sign an affidavit under the pains and penalties of perjury that
\nyou qualify before you will be issued a ballot. The Town Clerk’s Office
\nwill be open without an appointment just next week on Monday from 8:00 a.m.
\n– 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday
\nfrom 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12 noon.<\/p>\n
In-person voting for all registered voters on Election Day, Saturday May
\n18th, will be from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Hanover High School. You may
\npark in the front or in the back as both doors will be open. There will be
\nextra handicapped-accessible parking in the back, along with Election Day
\nVoter-only parking spots also in the back. There will likely be fewer
\npeople electioneering in the front!<\/p>\n
ALL ballots must be received by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in order to be
\ncounted. If you still need to return your Vote by Mail ballot, please
\ndeposit it in the secure camera-monitored ballot drop box in front of Town
\nHall. Election workers empty the box and process those ballots every day.<\/p>\n
