Union Cemetery: Burial Ground of the Early Republic
\nUnion Cemetery in Assinippi on the line between the Towns of Hanover and
\nNorwell is a small burying ground established just a few years after the
\nAmerican Revolution. Within its bounds can be found the dramatic changes
\nthat occurred in burial and mourning customs in the early years of the
\nUnited States. This tour will look at the landscape, gravestones, and
\nfuneral customs of the period between the Revolution and the Civil War.
\nTour will last an hour, rain or shine.<\/p>\n
