Hanover Town Clerk Catherine Harder-Bernier reminded residents today that
\n2025 Town of Hanover dog licenses are now available on-line, via the front
\ndoor mail slot, or by US mail. The licensing period is January 1, 2025 \u2013
\nMarch 31, 2025, and a $10 late fee applies beginning April 1, 2025. All
\ndogs over the age of 6 months are required by law to be licensed. The
\nlicense is good for one year, and costs $10 for spayed or neutered dogs,
\nand $15 for intact dogs. New this year \u2013 dogs with a rabies vaccination
\nexpiration date of 2027 or 2028 are eligible for a three-year tag! Save
\n$10 over the three-year period by requesting a three-year tag at $20 for a
\nspayed or neutered dog or $35 for an intact dog! Residents over the age of
\n70 will be given a free license for their rabies-vaccinated dog upon proof
\nof the owner\u2019s age.
\nThere are several easy ways to license your dog.

\nYour tag will be mailed to you upon our acceptance of your application and

\u2022\tResidents may also fill out the dog license application that is found
\non the Town Clerk\u2019s section of the Town of Hanover\u2019s website at:

\n. This is the same application that was included in the census mailing
\nthis year. Completed forms may be dropped in the front door mail slot or
\nUS mailed in with your payment, proof of current rabies vaccination and
\nproof of spaying or neutering (if you have not submitted that information
\npreviously) to the Town Clerk\u2019s Office and your tag will be mailed back
\nto you.
\nUnlicensed dogs are subject to a minimum of a $50 fine, with an additional
\n$50 fine if unleashed and another fine of $50 if unvaccinated for rabies.
\nDon\u2019t delay; get your dog\u2019s license today! If you have questions or
