Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover’s registered voters turned out in droves again this year for our
\nSpecial Town Meeting and the first night of our Annual Town Meeting. Over
\n700 people filled the auditorium and the gymnasium at Hanover High School,
\nwhich didn’t meet or beat our turnout of over 1000 last year but certainly
\nwas a solid showing by any other standard for a Town Meeting.<\/p>\n
Despite attempts to amend our budgets, both the “base budget” and “override
\nbudget” passed as printed in the warrant, found here:
\nhttp:\/\/atotw.com\/maillist\/lt.php?tid=y3bfbqU9UoSdswyITf4X4NW0OZ\/i0axjuKk6EbZ6qeZoqLt7nDOYRqoN783ZLADJ
\n. We proudly hailed our town’s veterans, both those in the audience as
\nwell as those who served us decades ago as we named a traffic island for
\nthe Hanover Gardner brothers of WWII and increased two different veterans’
\nexemptions. We also cleaned up some necessary changes in our General
\nBylaws as they related to an obsolete zoning area’s signs and the
\nConservation Committee.<\/p>\n
And, we made it through the whole Special Town Meeting, and 27 articles of
\nthe Annual Town Meeting. We will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May
\n6th, 2025 at Hanover High School.
