South Shore Recycling Cooperative to host 10th<\/sup> Anniversary \u201cShredabration\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

To celebrate ten years of service to its member towns, the South Shore Recycling Cooperative (SSRC) is hosting a \u201cShredabration\u201d, in conjunction with Sustainable Hanover.\u00a0 The event will take place on Saturday, November 22 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Hanover Town Hall and is open to all area residents and small businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Northeast Data Destruction <\/strong>of Mansfield <\/strong>will provide on-site shredding and recycling services.\u00a0 Residents and small businesses may bring sensitive documents to be shredded on site.\u00a0 Northeast Data Destruction will shred the first box of documents each participant brings at no charge.\u00a0 There is a $5 charge for each additional box.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sustainable Hanover is collecting used CDs, DVDs, video games, VHS and audio tapes for reuse\/recycling.\u00a0 The items will be sorted and sent to Got Books for reuse, or to the CD Recycling Center of America for recycling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The SSRC will accept and deliver donations of gently used baby equipment in good, clean and usable condition for Cradles to Crayons, which distributes a wide range of children\u2019s items to local families in need. (No battery-operated items please.)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Established in 1998, the SSRC assists sixteen member towns, from Weymouth down the coast to Plymouth, and west to Holbrook with waste reduction, recycling, composting and hazardous product management.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Did you know that paper products, including cardboard, make up approximately 31% of household solid waste.\u00a0 Shredded paper is one of many types of paper that is easily recyclable.\u00a0 Technology has made it possible for paper recyclers to handle some common\u00a0non-paper contaminants.\u00a0 Among the types of paper now acceptable in public recycling programs are: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
