The Lutheran Church of the Cross is thrilled to announce a free family
\nconcert, COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS CONCERT to celebrate the joy of music this
\nholiday season. The concert will be on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at
\n2:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, located at 77 Rockland Street.
\nThe concert is their gift to the community and will feature festive music
\nwith traditional Christmas Carols and contemporary holiday tunes to
\nentertain all ages.<\/p>\n
They are pleased to present \u201cThe Victorian Carolers of Boston,\u201d a
\nwell-known professional a Capella quartet, who dress in mid-19th century
\n(1840\u2019s to 1860\u2019s) clothing. The quartet has been together for many
\nyears and performs all over New England throughout the year. Director and
\nleader of the quartet Danny Bolton explained, \u201cOur quartet loves to sing
\nand bring the joy of music to everyone, but Christmas time is our
\nfavorite.\u201d <\/p>\n
Also performing is 12-year-old Miguel Ferreira. Miguel taught himself and
\nbegan playing the piano at an extremely early age; after church service he
\nwould play the piano in the social hall. With consistent practice and
\nself-study, everyone witnessed Miguel\u2019s talent grow. Miguel was looking
\nfor a new challenge and so he mastered playing the organ. His mastery of
\nthe organ seems effortless, and everyone, including experienced
\nprofessional musicians, music teachers and audiences, are in awe during his
\nperformances. He recently performed a two-hour organ concert at the
\nLutheran Church of the Cross consisting of all Bach compositions to raise
\nfunds for a young five-year-old with cancer.<\/p>\n
Matt MacDougall grew up singing in the children, youth, and adult choirs of
\nthe Lutheran Church of the Cross, and will be the tenor soloist. Male tenor
\nsoloists possess the highest male singing voices and are in demand by
\nchoirs and professional operas due to their rarity. Matt\u2019s voice is known
\nfor its power and bright, resonant high notes. With a strong background and
\nstudy of music, he is still passionately active in the music scene and will
\nbe returning to his hometown church for this concert to the delight of all.<\/p>\n
The concert will include a short intermission with light refreshments in
\nthe social hall. There will be opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a
\nThanksgiving basket or a ticket for their Christmas Festival Raffle with
\nthree great prizes.
\nCelebrate the season of hope, peace, love and joy with the music of
\ntalented local artists and musicians. Let the COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS
