HANOVER TOWN CENSUS MAILED \u2013 NO CHANGES THIS YEAR? – – SUBMIT ON-LINE!
\nThe annual Town Census has been mailed to all Hanover households. If you do
\nnot have any changes to your Town Census, you may submit your response
\non-line! All other residents should review the information on the form,
\nmake any changes if necessary, and sign and return the form as soon as
\npossible. If there are no changes to your Town Census, you may instead go
\nto:

\nand fill out the on-line form. Household members who are temporarily
\nliving away from home, such as college students, members of the military
\nservices, etc., should not be removed from the census if they plan to use
\nHanover as their voting address.<\/p>\n
The Hanover Public Schools\u2019 annual School Census for non-HPS students is
\nalso now open and will once again be completed electronically. All Hanover
\nfamilies with children attending private schools, charter schools, online
\nprograms, homeschool, or any school outside the Hanover district are asked
\nto visit

\nand submit their School Census information by February 9th. Please remember
\nthat non-HPS children must be listed on both the Town Census and the
\nelectronic School Census. There is no need to submit the electronic form
\nfor any Hanover Public Schools students. <\/p>\n

\nCompletion of the annual census is important for a number of reasons.
\n\u2022\tIt assists in accurate municipal planning
\n\u2022\tIt assists the police and fire departments in case of any emergency in
\nyour home it allows Hanover to receive the proper allocation of state and
\nfederal funds and grants.
\n\u2022\tFiling a census can provide proof of residency for a number of legal
\nrequirements such as in-state tuition at state colleges, housing benefits,
\nveterans\u2019 benefits, and insurance benefits.
\n\u2022\tRegistered voters in a household that fail to complete an annual census
\nwill lose their \u201cactive voter status, which is an important
\nconsideration.
\nBe sure your family phone number is on the census form. This phone number
\nwill only be used in case of emergencies!
