\nDear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n

HYAA announces girls travel basketball tryouts for 4th – 8th graders will be
\nheld starting Monday, September 21st at Hanover Middle School. Prior to
\ntryouts there will be supervised open gym time at Cedar Elementary School.
\nEach grade group will have selected times, as listed below, to participate. <\/p>\n

The purpose of the tryouts is to select two teams per grade to compete
\nagainst other South Shore towns. Girls travel basketball requires a big
\ncommitment and the teams are competitive. Teams will play approximately 30
\ngames and have two practices per week starting in October and going through
\nthe end of March. In addition to the regular season games, teams may play
\nin various tournaments, which are typically during school vacation weeks or
\nholidays.<\/p>\n

Tryout format:<\/p>\n

An experienced five-judge board will evaluate each respective group.
\nParents are not allowed in the gym while the tryout is taking place. Two
\nteams will be selected for each grade group. Team roster size will be
\ndetermined on a team-by-team basis. Team rosters for all grades will be
\nposted on the HYAA website on Saturday, September 26th.<\/p>\n

2009\/2010 Travel fees approximately (fees do not include tournament costs):<\/p>\n

$250 for all players and $275 if a uniform is required.<\/p>\n
