Join author Christopher Klein for a slide show tour of Boston Harbor Islands
\nthis Tuesday at the John Curtis Library. Mr. Klein pays tribute to the role
\nthe harbor islands have played in the growth, protection, and culture of
\nBoston. He includes stories of the countless new Englanders who lived and
\ntoiled on the island shores:<\/p>\n
. native Americans who seasonally camped on the islands<\/p>\n
. wealthy Bostonians who turned the islands into their own private
\nplaygrounds<\/p>\n
. sick and poor incarcerated on the islands during public health
\nepidemics and <\/p>\n
. island-bound prisoners of war. <\/p>\n
This program will take place on Tuesday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the
\nlibrary. There is no charge for admission and refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n
