Thank you to the veterans among us.every day, but especially today, as we
\ncommemorate Veteran’s Day. In keeping with today’s holiday, I offer the
\nfollowing e-mail which came to me from Libby Corbo, the generous soul who
\nwas behind last week’s Halloween candy collection for the troops:<\/p>\n
Just thought I would give you an update on the candy collection for the
\ntroops! The response was tremendous – we have collected over 140 POUNDS of
\ncandy! I have ordered 20 boxes from the post office, which we should
\neasily fill. As soon as I receive the boxes from the post office, Janine
\nHardman (my neighbor) and I will pack them full and ship them off. Tuzik
\nBoston, a local company, has generously offered to ship a few boxes and I’ve
\ncollected almost $75 in donations for shipping from generous individuals.
\nWe have enough donations to ship about 12 boxes. I am still looking for
\nmore donations to defray some of the shipping costs for the remaining candy.
\nThere is now a jar at the John Curtis Library for donations. The Library
\nstaff has been amazing and I am so grateful for their help in collecting the
\ncandy. We have two local soldiers that we are shipping to and are still
\nlooking for names and addresses of local soldiers who would like a package.
\nThank you for your assistance – the result was more than I could have ever
\nhoped for! <\/p>\n
