What Every Parent Should Know!<\/p>\n

Presented by: Special Education Attorney, Tim Sindelar<\/p>\n

Tim Sindelar is a partner in the Newton law firm, Hilton, Sindelar & Hahn,
\nwhere his practice focuses chiefly on special education and other litigation
\nconcerning the rights of children to essential services such as education
\nand health care and the rights of adults with disabilities to effective
\nstate services and appropriate accommodations. Before entering private
\npractice, Tim spent nearly 10 years at the Disability Law Center and more
\nthan 15 years working with other legal services programs in 3 states. Tim
\nhas represented hundreds of families in matters before the Bureau of Special
\nEducation Appeals and the state and federal courts on special education
\nissues. He has also worked with parents groups on legislative and regulatory
\nissues pertaining to special education and health issues.<\/p>\n

This year’s basic rights workshop will include a review of Federal and State
\nlaws – 504 & IDEA, eligibility determination and the IEP process. Attorney
\nSindelar will address general questions about the law and what students are
\nentitled to under its protection.<\/p>\n

What is the Hanover Parent Advisory Council?<\/p>\n

The PAC is a parent group whose mission is to work toward understanding,
\nrespect, support and appropriate education for all children with learning
\ndifferences in our community. The Hanover PAC will provide an opportunity
\nfor parents to network and share information as well as a way to work
\nconstructively with our schools to make them the best they can be for all
\nchildren.<\/p>\n
