To register<br \/>\nfor all programs, please register online at<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.hanover-ma.gov\/recreation.shtml .  We are currently writing our<br \/>\nWinter\/Spring brochure; if there are any special programs you would like to<br \/>\nsee, please feel free to contact Marc Craig at recreation@hanover-ma.gov .<\/p>\n<p>CPR Training- Town Hall<\/p>\n<p>       This course is AHA certified and offers a comprehensive program to<br \/>\ntrain the individual and will also include training with the use of an AED<br \/>\n(Automated External Defibrillator). Get your CPR certification in just one<br \/>\nnight.<\/p>\n<p>Class Dates   12\/1\/09<\/p>\n<p>Class Fee: $50.00    6:00 to 9:00 PM<\/p>\n<p>WINTER ZUMBA &#8211; Hanover Police Boys Club<\/p>\n<p>Offset those holiday treats and festive calories by attending a Zumba class<br \/>\nthis winter.  Zumba fuses hypnotic latin and international rhythms, with<br \/>\neasy-to-follow moves, to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you<br \/>\naway.  Why tolerate a boring workout routine when you can have a blast<br \/>\ndancing your way to a healthier you?  Join Hanover resident, Jennifer Lloyd,<br \/>\nat the Hanover Boys Club on Tuesday nights.  This workout is for all fitness<br \/>\nand experience levels.you&#8217;ll see, there is nothing to be afraid of. Please make<br \/>\nchecks made payable to Hanover Parks &amp; Recreation or register online at<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.hanover-ma.gov\/recreation.shtml.<\/p>\n<p>DIGITAL CAMERA WORK SHOP- Just in time for your holiday shopping, Hanover<br \/>\nParks &amp; Rec is offering a two hour workshop designed to help you choose the<br \/>\nright digital camera for your needs. A selection of digital cameras will be<br \/>\non hand for participants to handle and test, and a professional photographer<br \/>\nwill be offering advice and answering questions about digital camera<br \/>\nproducts. The Rec Department is working with a local camera shop to offer<br \/>\ndiscounts on camera purchases.  The workshop will be held Wednesday evening,<br \/>\nDecember 2nd at the Town Hall from 7-9pm. The cost is $20 per participant<\/p>\n<p>Lego Days- John Curtis Free Library                                      <\/p>\n<p>                The hugely popular Lego Days program is back!! Children get<br \/>\nto have fun playing with Legos and building cool things while parents have<br \/>\nfun with an afternoon to themselves. This program is designed for Elementary<br \/>\nSchool aged children. <\/p>\n<p>Cost: $ 7 per day<\/p>\n<p>Date:  December 8th, 2:00 &#8211; 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>( We will also be offering a FULL Lego Day 8-4 on Martin Luther King<br \/>\nDay!!!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned for our Winter\/Spring Brochure)<\/p>\n<p>Babysitting Course- Police Station<\/p>\n<p>                This one day course is designed to assist 5th-7th graders in<br \/>\nbeing better babysitters and knowing the do&#8217;s and don&#8217;ts of being home<br \/>\nalone. The course will cover information on child development, playing with<br \/>\nyounger children, basic first aid, fire safety and prevention, and the<br \/>\noverall responsibilities of babysitting.<\/p>\n<p>Instructor: Kimberly Cleary, a registered nurse and mom. <\/p>\n<p>Limited to 18 pre-registered students, fee $15.<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $15<\/p>\n<p>Date:  Saturday December 5th 9 a.m. &#8211; 12 noon<\/p>\n<p>Holiday Party -Town Hall<\/p>\n<p>            This Holiday Party is designed for elementary aged children<br \/>\n(k-4). Children come to the Town Hall for some fun Holiday music and games<br \/>\nthen watch a fun Holiday movie. Parents also get some much deserved time off<br \/>\nwhile their children are supervised by the great Park and Rec staff.<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $10<\/p>\n<p>Date: December 18th 6:30-9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Winter Teen Extreme<\/p>\n<p>Winter Vacation Camp<\/p>\n<p>A one week program designed for students in grades five through eight. Will<br \/>\nbe held during the week of Christmas Break (December 28th through December<br \/>\n31st).  On non field trip days, the students will be at Hanover Boys Club<br \/>\n(behind the Town hall); kids can participate in arts and crafts, sports,<br \/>\nboard games, and many other activities. The program will be 9:00am until<br \/>\n2:00 pm on Monday and Wednesday. Times of the field trips may vary.<br \/>\nWednesday may also include a trip to Strawberry Valley for Sledding (Weather<br \/>\nPermitting).<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday December 29, 2009:<br \/>\nSnow Tubing at Amesbury Sports Park<br \/>\nAmesbury Sports Park provides one of the fastest-growing winter recreational<br \/>\nactivities at the largest tubing park in New England! Seven lanes are<br \/>\nmaintained by Amesbury&#8217;s experienced grooming fleet, the park provides ideal<br \/>\ntubing conditions for thrill seekers of all ages.<br \/>\nTime: 8:30 a.m. &#8211; 3:00 pm<\/p>\n<p>Thursday December 31, 2009:<br \/>\nRock Climbing at Carabiner&#8217;s Indoor Climbing<br \/>\n328 Parker Street, New Bedford MA<br \/>\nStudents will be provided with rental gear and a day passes for indoor<br \/>\nclimbing. Carabiner&#8217;s created a brand new facility designed from the ground<br \/>\nup to be one of the finest indoor climbing facilities in the world with over<br \/>\n35,000 square feet of climbing.<br \/>\nTime: 9:00 am &#8211; 3:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Registration begins immediately. This program WILL fill up fast so please<br \/>\nregister ASAP. There will only be 50 spots available.<\/p>\n<p>$110 for the whole week of activities<\/p>\n<p>S K I I N G <\/p>\n<p>Ski Lessons- Blue Hills                MUST BE BOOKED BY 12\/20<\/p>\n<p>Once again this winter Hanover Parks and Recreation will be offering ski<br \/>\nlessons at Blue Hills. Children age Kindergarten- 6th Grade will be<br \/>\neligible. Busses will leave from B. Everett Hall Field at 3:00 PM on Tuesday<br \/>\nafternoons, making stops at Cedar School as well as the Hanover Middle<br \/>\nSchool for children in the Afterschool Programs. If you wish to have your<br \/>\nchild picked up at an afterschool program please contact the Parks and<br \/>\nRecreation Department immediately so arrangements can be made. <\/p>\n<p>90 minutes lessons will begin at 4PM. Busses will then depart from Blue<br \/>\nHills at 5:45 and arrive back in Hanover at B. Everett Hall Field at 6:30. <\/p>\n<p>Children can choose to bring or rent equipment unless they participate in an<br \/>\nafterschool program, in which they can only rent. Helmets are not a<br \/>\nrequirement however they are STRONGLY suggested.<\/p>\n<p>Classes will take place every Tuesday from January 5th- February 2nd. If the<br \/>\nweather does not cooperate classes will continues on February 10th and 22nd.<br \/>\n(ASK ABOUT ADDING A SEASONS PASS)<\/p>\n<p> Cost: $220 without<\/p>\n<p>           $295 with rentals<\/p>\n<p>Open Skiing- Blue Hills              MUST BE BOOKED BY 12\/20<\/p>\n<p>This year Hanover Parks and Recreation will have an open ski program for<br \/>\nchildren who are comfortable skiing alone without supervision. Busses will<br \/>\nleave from B. Everett Hall Field at 3:00 PM on Tuesday afternoons, making<br \/>\nstops at Cedar School as well as the Hanover Middle School for children in<br \/>\nthe Afterschool Programs. Everett Hall Field at 4pm, lessons will start at 4:40 and<br \/>\nwill continue until 5:20. Busses will then depart from the Plymouth Rink at<br \/>\n5:30 and arrive back in Hanover at B.
