The Hanover Board of Health is seeking volunteers! Please respond by
\nMonday, December 7th @ 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
The Hanover Board of Health is once again making plans to provide the H1N1
\nvaccination to those seeking protection against the novel H1N1 virus. The
\nBoard of Health has scheduled the second H1N1 Clinic for Saturday, December
\n12th at the South Shore Vocational Technical High School.<\/p>\n
The Clinic will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and is
\nrestricted to only the following high risk groups:<\/p>\n
. pregnant women;<\/p>\n
. household contacts of infants less than 6 months;<\/p>\n
. children age 6 months to 18 years of age (children age 10 and under
\nrequire 2 shots – 28 days apart or 21 day minimum).<\/p>\n
This clinic is not limited to Hanover residents.<\/p>\n
As before, there are many, many areas in which we will require assistance,
\nincluding:<\/p>\n
Nurses – Needed in a variety of areas:<\/p>\n
1. Vaccinators<\/p>\n
2. Vaccination recorders – these will work in
\npairs<\/p>\n
3. Screeners<\/p>\n
4. Vaccine inventory<\/p>\n
5. To pre-fill syringes<\/p>\n
Nurses – will be provided with information concerning their
\nprofessional liability protection as <\/p>\n
well as copies of the Model Standing Orders, signed by the
\nBoard of Health’s physician of record, <\/p>\n
which provide the standards for H1N1 vaccination.<\/p>\n
Support Staff – Needed in a variety of areas:<\/p>\n
1. Greeters<\/p>\n
2. Runners<\/p>\n
3. Registration<\/p>\n
This is the second in a series of Clinics, and the need for help will remain
\nconstant. Whatever amount of time you can give to this effort will be
\nappreciated, whether you can assist now or at a later clinic.<\/p>\n
If you are willing and able to help, it would mean: Nurses arriving at 9:30
\na.m. and Support Staff arriving 10:00 a.m. to receive orientation in the
\nposition you are assigned. Walkie talkie instructions will be provided by
\nHanover’s Emergency Agency for those positions requiring communication with
\nother areas of the Clinic.<\/p>\n
Food, water and soft drinks will be provided and be available throughout the
\nday.<\/p>\n
If you can help, please respond to
\nhealth@hanover-ma.gov before Monday, December 7th by 4:00 p.m. Indicate
\nyour hours of availability and preferred duty. Schedules will be determined
\nto ensure smooth clinic flow and will be available Saturday morning. Nurses
\nmust show their Massachusetts Nursing license the day of the clinic. You do
\nnot need to devote your entire day, any hours you can give will contribute
\nto the success of the day.<\/p>\n
