Please contact the library at<br \/>\n781-826-2972 or Lisa Dehner at lkdehn@gmail.com or 781-826-1199 for<br \/>\nadditional details.<\/p>\n<p>Poplar River is a romantic wilderness adventure novel set at a remote<br \/>\nfishing outpost in northern Manitoba, Canada, where Karen Kinsley and her<br \/>\nhusband Steve Marsten spend an unusual honeymoon.  While learning the art of<br \/>\nfishing, Karen responds deeply to the beauty of pristine nature.  Returning<br \/>\nyear after year to the same outpost on Poplar River, her love of the natural<br \/>\nworld and knowledge of fishing grow.  She develops a mystical attachment to<br \/>\ncertain animals of the wild-and that attraction is mutual!  Some of the<br \/>\nadventures in the wilderness are spine-chilling, others amusing.  Readers<br \/>\nwill gasp, laugh, and cry as they live through ten years of Karen&#8217;s triumphs<br \/>\nand tragedies.<\/p>\n<p>Judith Barban is a native of Atlanta, GA.  She garnered numerous scholastic<br \/>\nawards and honors as professor of French, first in Atlanta at Kennesaw State<br \/>\nUniversity, then in Rock Hill, SC, at Winthrop University.  After<br \/>\nretirement, Judith&#8217;s first novel, Poplar River, won the top prize from the<br \/>\nSoutheastern Writers Association in 2009, and has received glowing reviews.<br \/>\nJudith is a classical pianist and lives in Tega Cay, SC.
