Poplar River is a romantic wilderness adventure novel set at a remote
\nfishing outpost in northern Manitoba, Canada, where Karen Kinsley and her
\nhusband Steve Marsten spend an unusual honeymoon. While learning the art of
\nfishing, Karen responds deeply to the beauty of pristine nature. Returning
\nyear after year to the same outpost on Poplar River, her love of the natural
\nworld and knowledge of fishing grow. She develops a mystical attachment to
\ncertain animals of the wild-and that attraction is mutual! Some of the
\nadventures in the wilderness are spine-chilling, others amusing. Readers
\nwill gasp, laugh, and cry as they live through ten years of Karen’s triumphs
\nand tragedies.<\/p>\n
Judith Barban is a native of Atlanta, GA. She garnered numerous scholastic
\nawards and honors as professor of French, first in Atlanta at Kennesaw State
\nUniversity, then in Rock Hill, SC, at Winthrop University. After
\nretirement, Judith’s first novel, Poplar River, won the top prize from the
\nSoutheastern Writers Association in 2009, and has received glowing reviews.
\nJudith is a classical pianist and lives in Tega Cay, SC. She and her
\nhusband spend a part of every summer fishing in the Canadian wilderness.<\/p>\n
