A Parent’s Look at Testing & Evaluations: Your Role & Responsibilities <\/p>\n
Tuesday, March 9th (Snow date – March 16th) <\/p>\n
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. <\/p>\n
Hanover Middle School (Library), Whiting Street<\/p>\n
Elaine Rabbit will present an overview of educational testing and the
\nevaluation process. This presentation will focus on a parent’s role as it
\napplies to evaluations and assessments for their child. <\/p>\n
Topics will include: How do you request testing? How do you participate in
\na school district’s evaluation process? Also, what are some questions to
\nask an evaluator, tips on looking at evaluation reports, and how to research
\nadditional information. The presentation will conclude with a question and
\nanswer session; participants are welcome to bring their questions. <\/p>\n
Presented by: Elaine Rabbitt, Parent Support Specialist, EMR Parent Support
\nServices. Elaine currently advocates for her own son and mentors and
\nsupports families in their journey of advocating for their children. She has
\nreceived training through the Federation of Children with Special Needs and
\nWrightslaw. <\/p>\n
What is the Hanover Parent Advisory Council? <\/p>\n
The PAC is a parent group whose mission is to work toward understanding,
\nrespect, support and appropriate education for all children with learning
\ndifferences in our community. The Hanover PAC will provide an opportunity
\nfor parents to network and share information as well as a way to work
\nconstructively with our schools to make them the best they can be for all
\nchildren.<\/p>\n
