The Hanover Community Preservation Committee has recently recommended
\nfunding for the Hackett’s Pond Dam restoration. The North South River
\nWatershed Association would like the opportunity to discuss the issue of dam
\nremoval and river restoration with the committee and with any interested
\nresidents. As part of their discussion, Beth Lambert, River Restoration
\nProgram Manager with the Division of Ecological Restoration at the Mass
\nDept. of Fish and Game, will be giving a presentation on dam removal in
\nMassachusetts. Beth is currently working to help restore many rivers in
\nMassachusetts including the Billington Street Dam at Town Brook in Plymouth.
\nBeth will have photos of the areas before and after dams are removed and
\nwill be able to answer question on the impact of dam removal on communities
\nand the benefits of dam removal to the health of streams and rivers. <\/p>\n
The meeting will be held on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the
\nfirst floor hearing room at Town Hall. Mark your calendars as this is the
\nonly e-mail you will receive about this meeting. This meeting is open to
