I love how enthusiastic so many of you are about the news that impacts you
\nand\/or your families, or your community. I get e-mails from you day and
\nnight, 24\/7, about so many awesome events and fundraisers and bits of news.
\nKeep it coming! My webmaster tells me that we have grown exponentially in
\nthe last couple of years. I am so pleased to be able to provide this
\nconduit! In an effort to assist you with these efforts, please know that
\nthere are answers to frequently asked questions and guidelines for
\nsubmissions that may be found here (also 24\/7): www.atotw.com . They are
\nalso reprinted below for your information!<\/p>\n
What will you send "Around Town on the Web"?
\nFor those new to "ATOTW", please know that I am a volunteer who is simply
\njoyfully providing a service to my community. I send information regarding:<\/p>\n
*\tNon-profit events in Hanover
\n*\tEvents sponsored by Hanover non-profit organizations
\n*\tThe Town of Hanover’s municipal government
\n*\tFor-profit organizations which are providing a free community
\nservice to Hanover residents occasionally. I do ask that for-profits use
\ntraditional paid-for advertising. (I still enjoy reading the newspaper, and
\nthey need the ad revenue!)
\n*\tIndividual Hanover residents in need
\n*\tSignificant Hanover happenings and milestones
\n*\tHanover community safety issues.<\/p>\n
If something I send is not of interest to you, just hit delete! I make
\nconnections, provide a resource, and bring people together. I shout good
\nnews from the rooftops! I hope that I encourage you to get involved, stay
\ninvolved, and help to make Hanover the tremendous, affectionate, and united
\nsmall town that it already is and will certainly continue to be with your
\ndevoted participation.<\/p>\n
How do I submit something to "Around Town on the Web"?<\/p>\n
*\tPlease write your information in a press-release format if possible
\n– include who, what, where, how, when, and why, and send it so that I can
\nsimply cut and paste and send it along.
\n*\tSend it to cathyhb@atotw.com
\n*\tPlease only send Word documents or information embedded in an
\ne-mail. Most everything else does not cut and paste well and therefore does
\nnot read well once it goes out.
\n*\tI reserve the right to edit anything I send out, and also the right
\nto refuse to send something out entirely.
\n*\tWith the exception of my vacation time away, your information will
\nusually go out within a day or two of my receipt. Please plan your
\nadvertising campaigns accordingly.
\n*\tI don’t send reminders. I clog up people’s in-boxes enough as it is!
\nI will however send out revised or new information or cancellation notices
\nif my time permits.
\n*\tIf you want my webmaster to create a link to a document on
\nwww.atotw.com , please understand that he can, but please also allow us
\nthree or four days total notice prior to the information going out. He’s a
\nvolunteer, too!<\/p>\n
