Join the Hanover Open Space Committee (OSC) this Saturday, April 17th for a
\ntrail and field clean up at 9:00 a.m. at the "Stasiluk Nava Property",
\nlocated on the northwest side of Center Street between Myrtle Street and
\nWinter Street. Please bring clippers and gloves, as the group will clear
\nbrush, trim, and remove deadwood. You’ll get a chance to preview the
\nemerging trails on this newly acquired property. Once the team validates
\nthe current trail lines, a local Eagle scout candidate will be organizing a
\ngroup to complete the project. Parking is available on the property, and

The Hanover Open Space Committee would like to thank the community for its
\nwonderful support and participation both before and after last month’s
\nFireworks Trail walk. Upcoming walks are planned for May 22nd, 9:00 a.m. at
\nLuddam’s Ford, and June 19th, 9:00 a.m. at the Bog Iron trails between
\nBroadway, Spring Street and Hanover Street.<\/p>\n
Stay informed about activities and volunteer opportunities: you can find the

\nHanoverOpenSpace. In addition, the OSC wants for input from the equestrian
\ncommunity in town. Please let them know if you can contribute your
\nspecialized knowledge and needs to our volunteer committee.<\/p>\n
The Hanover OSC was chartered to ensure that the town’s rural character is
\nmaintained and enhanced both through protection of existing resources and
\nacquisition of new properties. It is responsible for planning and
\nfacilitating the improvement of open space, enhancing access to open space,
\nand raising awareness of land use issues. The OSC is also interested in
\nprotecting land that is environmentally sensitive, could be used for passive
\nrecreation, or is important for conserving the look and feel of the town.
\nTheir goal is to retain the natural beauty and heritage of the town we live
\nin and love.<\/p>\n
The OSC would also like to hear from you if you are simply interested in
\nmore information on the work of the Committee. The Open Space Committee
\nmeets regularly on the 1st Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Hanover Town
\nHall. <\/p>\n
