Please bring clippers and gloves, as the group will clear<br \/>\nbrush, trim, and remove deadwood.  You&#8217;ll get a chance to preview the<br \/>\nemerging trails on this newly acquired property.  Once the team validates<br \/>\nthe current trail lines, a local Eagle scout candidate will be organizing a<br \/>\ngroup to complete the project.  Parking is available on the property, and<br \/>\nalong the property&#8217;s stonewall. Upcoming walks are planned for May 22nd, 9:00 a.m. at<br \/>\nLuddam&#8217;s Ford, and June 19th, 9:00 a.m. at the Bog Iron trails between<br \/>\nBroadway, Spring Street and Hanover Street.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed about activities and volunteer opportunities: you can find the<br \/>\nOSC on Facebook: Hanover Open Space, the web:<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.hanover-ma.gov\/open-space.shtml, or join their Yahoo Group:<br \/>\nHanoverOpenSpace.  In addition, the OSC wants for input from the equestrian<br \/>\ncommunity in town.  Please let them know if you can contribute your<br \/>\nspecialized knowledge and needs to our volunteer committee.<\/p>\n<p>The Hanover OSC was chartered to ensure that the town&#8217;s rural character is<br \/>\nmaintained and enhanced both through protection of existing resources and<br \/>\nacquisition of new properties.  It is responsible for planning and<br \/>\nfacilitating the improvement of open space, enhancing access to open space,<br \/>\nand raising awareness of land use issues.  The OSC is also interested in<br \/>\nprotecting land that is environmentally sensitive, could be used for passive<br \/>\nrecreation, or is important for conserving the look and feel of the town.<br \/>\nTheir goal is to retain the natural beauty and heritage of the town we live<br \/>\nin and love.<\/p>\n<p>The OSC would also like to hear from you if you are simply interested in<br \/>\nmore information on the work of the Committee.
