Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Hanover High School teacher Mark Malloy’s senior classes are participating
\nin a fundraiser that they hope you might consider supporting. It is called
\n"Run to Home Base" (http:\/\/www.runtohomebase.org\/). The Home Base Program
\nis a new philanthropic partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and
\nMassachusetts General Hospital dedicated to improving the lives of New
\nEngland servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat
\nstress disorders and\/or traumatic brain injury through clinical care,
\ninnovative research, education, family support and community outreach.<\/p>\n
Mr. Malloy’s students have pledged to raise $5,000 by May 23rd. They will
\nbe selling t-shirts in the Hanover schools to raise money. Rockland
\nAthletics is very supportive and it is hoped that the sales of the t-shirts
\nwill go a long way to help the students reach their goal.<\/p>\n
The other major way the students hope to raise money is by e-mailing you!
\nAny amount will be greatly appreciated. They just started the other day and
\nhave had donations ranging from $10 – $50. Every little bit helps! The war
\nand the reminders of war stay with many of our veterans. Our military
\npersonnel have made incredible sacrifices to protect our freedoms.
\nSupporting the "Run to Home Base" program is a small way to show our
\nveterans our appreciation for their efforts. <\/p>\n
