Walnut Hill Garden Club of Hanover
\nwill hold its biennial public plant sale on Saturday, May 22, 9:00 a.m.
\n– 12:00 p.m. at Riley Hall, First Congregational Church, 515
\nHanover Street. The sale will feature a huge collection of select plants
\nfrom member gardens, which are some of the finest gardens across the South Shore.
\nEverything will be sold at affordable prices, including easy care daylilies in
\nglorious colors, iris, hosta, astilbe and other hardy shade plants, ornamental
\ngrasses, ground covers, shrubs and much more. Among the daylilies offered will
\nbe the big, bold, yellow Mary Todd daylily featured on some of the town’s
\ntraffic islands. The public is invited to come early for the best plant
\nselection, and urged to bring plant trays, crates and boxes to carry purchases
\nhome. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This year, in addition to plants,
\nthe Walnut Hill Club will be selling a decorated tote bag created by the
\nclub’s recycling committee. This is a large, sturdy, grocery bag featuring the Entering
\nHanover sign with morning glories twining over it. It is washable, hand
\npainted, 100% cotton canvas, capable of handling loads up to 60 lbs, perfect
\nfor trips to the grocery store, beach, etc. Cost of the ‘Hanover’
\nbag: $10\/each or 3 for $25.<\/p>\n
