By a 3 – 1 vote, the Board of Selectman agreed Monday
\nto rescind the previously suggested cuts to the Fiscal Year 2011 budget.
\nThe Selectman had voted 2 – 1 on May 3rd to cut specific
\nbudgetary line items and positions from the Police Department, Fire Department,
\nDepartment of Municipal Inspections and Selectmen budgets, including the Fire
\nPrevention Officer, Personnel Administration, a clerk in the Department of
\nMunicipal Inspections, and secretarial time in the Police and Fire Departments.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The matter will likely be up for discussion again as we move
\nthrough the year, as the town will be facing potentially larger cuts in Fiscal
\nYear 2012. In the meantime, we will be following the will of Town Meeting
\nand the recommendations of the Advisory Committee in Fiscal ’11.<\/p>\n
