No matter if this is your first Memorial Day in Hanover or
\nif you know the parade route by heart, our small-town observances are a slice
\nof Americana that we all should participate in and appreciate. I hope you
\nwill join our veterans as we remember the fallen among them.<\/p>\n

\nThere will be a Memorial Sunday church service at the Lutheran Church of
\nthe Cross on Sunday, May 30th at 9:00 a.m. Veterans are
\nencouraged to attend.<\/p>\n

\nBoy Scout Troop 38 of Hanover will host their annual pancake breakfast
\non Monday, May 31st at St. Mary’s Parish Hall from 7:00
\n– 9:30 a.m. Tickets are available at the door or from any Troop 38
\nScout; $5.00 for adults, $3.50 for seniors, $2.50 for kids 12 and under, and
\nveterans are free!<\/p>\n

\nThe Stetson House will be open on May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to
\n11:00 a.m. thanks to the Friends of the Stetson House. A special exhibit
\nwill feature “Hanover’s military past, from the American Revolution
\nthrough World War II”.<\/p>\n

\nBoy Scout Troop 1 of Hanover will once again be providing coffee,
\ndonuts, hot dogs, refreshments and baked goods for sale at the corner of 139
\nand Silver Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. for all those in need of nourishment
\nbefore and during the parade on Monday!<\/p>\n

\nFor those participating in the parade, it will
\nform at 9:45 a.m. behind St. Mary’s Parish Hall.<\/p>\n

\nThe Memorial Day parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. from behind the St.
\nMary’s Parish Hall, stopping traffic on Hanover Street\/139, stopping at
\nthe Sylvester School Memorial Flagstaff to honor the WWI vets, proceeding on to
\nseveral stops and observances in the cemetery including the Urn for Unknown
\nSoldiers, then on to the Civil War monument and the WWII, Korean, Vietnam and
\nPersian Gulf monument located at Town Hall. Highlights of the parade will
\ninclude performances from the HHS Marching Band, and speeches from elected
\nofficials at Town Hall. All veterans are invited to participate in the
\nparade that will honor their extraordinary service to and sacrifice for our
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
