Ace reporter Geoff Hoffman was kind enough to send in the
\nfollowing write up regarding the continued winning traditions of Hanover’s
\nsoccer teams! Thanks, Geoff!<\/p>\n

Three separate Hanover Travel Soccer Teams at the high
\nschool age groups have qualified for the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions
\n(MTOC) by capturing Costal Soccer League crowns this spring. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Sophomore Boys 16 year old team concluded an undefeated
\nseason at 9-0-1. The team avenged their one early season tie with Silver Lake
\nby beating them in a second meeting 3-1 to clinch the league title. The team
\nbalanced plenty of scoring with lock down defense, outscoring their opponents
\nover the course of the season 45-7.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Boys 18 year old team faced a must win game vs. Carver
\nthis past weekend with the league title on the line. Anything less than a
\nwin and they would end up short of the title. The boys started the game
\nstrong with aggressive scoring early on in the 1st half, and then
\nfinishing on a handful of opportunities to win the game 5-2. The win
\nclinched the league title for Hanover by 1 point over Norwell and sent the
\nHanover boys to the MTOC representing Coastal League in the Boys 18 year old
\nage group.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And finally, the Hanover Girls 18\/19 year old team put
\ntogether a 7-2 regular season record but found themselves locked up in a tie
\nwith Duxbury. A one game play-off vs. Duxbury was on tap for the league
\ntitle and the Hanover girls were up to the task. After trading 2 goals each in
\nthe 1st half, Hanover scored at the 20 minute mark of the second
\nhalf from a Hanover corner kick to go ahead 3-2. But Duxbury would not
\nback down and scored the equalizer just a few minutes later. Hanover
\nresponded with the 4th and deciding goal with just less than 10
\nminutes remaining in the game and played exceptionally strong defense at the
\nend to preserve the win. With this playoff win, they will represent Coastal
\nSoccer League in the Girls 19 year old age group at the MTOC.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
These three teams will play in the Massachusetts Tournament
\nof Champions in Lancaster, MA June 25 – 27. Congratulations to the teams
\nfor their remarkable regular season accomplishments (league titles) in the
\nCoastal Soccer League and best of luck to them at the MTOC.<\/p>\n
