Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I could not possibly put the past three days into words that
\nwould honor the man appropriately or adequately. The Town of Hanover, no,
\nthe Commonwealth of Massachusetts, laid Bob Nyman to rest this afternoon.
\nIn the process, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of men, women and children paid
\ntheir last respects to a man of the people, a genuinely good-hearted soul, who
\nloved life and loved his family and friends. He clearly loved his job,
\ntoo. He served the people of Hanover, and also Rockland and Norwell, and
\nwe said our good-byes today. It was far too soon.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
His daughters Kristy and Kara were eloquent and funny and
\nemotional (the apple does not fall far from the tree). Rhonda was a
\npicture of grace. Chris, and the stories about her, were priceless.
\nTommy Finneran was his usual distinctive yet common self, and all at the same
\ntime. The governor and a senator, and countless other officials, honored
\nhim with their attendance. Father Chris brought credit and a welcoming presence
\nto St. Mary’s at our saddest hour. There were so many people
\nthere. So many that were familiar, and so many unknown to me, but we were
\nall connected by Representative Robert J. Nyman.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That common thread bound us. We were all touched…somehow…by
\nthe man we called Bobby. He served us with extraordinary dignity and
\nremarkable pleasure. All politics were local, and for him, they weren’t
\neven (really) politics, they were just a way of life.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Thank you for sharing your husband and father, Rhonda,
\nKristy and Kara. We were lucky to know him. We were all blessed by
\nhis short life. <\/p>\n

May you rest in peace, Bobby.<\/p>\n
