The Hanover Anchor Race is coming back to town!<\/p>\n
The Hanover Anchor Race is a great community event that first took place in the
\nspring of 2008. Over 160 runners, which included 100 Hanover residents, took
\npart in this 4-mile race through Hanover. They are hoping to exceed that
\nnumber this year. So, break out your running shoes!<\/p>\n
When: Sunday October 3rd – start time 10:00 a.m.
\nTime by Spitler Race Systems
\nCheck in begins at 8:30 a.m.; Kids Fun Run at 9:00 a.m.; family events
\nthroughout the morning.<\/p>\n
Where: Starting line is at Cedar School, 265 Cedar Street.<\/p>\n

\n Sign up before September 15th to receive a complimentary t-shirt. Fee
\nis $18.00 on-line ahead of time or register on race day for $20.00 at their check-in
\ntable.<\/p>\n
Ever wonder why it is called the Anchor Race? Old Ironsides’ anchor was
\nbuilt in Hanover. The anchor is part of the town’s seal and the logo of
\nthe Hanover Schools. It is a great piece of Hanover history (and also the
\nfinal leg of a relay team!).<\/p>\n
All proceeds from the Hanover Anchor Race will benefit the Hanover Foundation
\nfor Educational Enrichment (HFEE). They are looking for corporate sponsors and
\nfamily sponsors. For $100, your business will support the Newcomers Club, the
\nAnchor Race and the HFEE. For $50.00 your family can do the same. All
\nsponsors received by September 15th will have their company or
\nfamily name printed on race t-shirts.<\/p>\n
They are also looking for anyone who would like to help out with our family events
\non race day…teach an exercise class or lead group stretching, paint faces or
\nset up a booth for your wellness business. If you would like to sponsor the
\nrace, make a donation, or volunteer your talent to make the day special for
\nspectators, please contact Race Director Amy Coffey at
