On September 21st at 7:00 p.m.,
\nnoted historian Anthony Sammarco will present a lavishly illustrated slide
\nlecture on Howard Johnson, who is credited with being the “Father of the
\nFranchise Industry”. Howard Johnson was born in Wollaston,
\nMassachusetts and began his empire by selling newspapers, cigars, and ice
\ncream, which by the 1930s would include 28 flavors, with a recipe for
\ndelectable double fat ice cream that brought patrons back for more.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This program, held at our very own John Curtis
\nLibrary, is sponsored by the Friends of the John Curtis Library and is open and
\nfree to the public. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n
