Hanover High School is hosting a team for our continued high
\nschool accreditation in the fall of 2012. One of the first steps in this
\nprocess is the development of a “Core Values and Beliefs About Learning”
\nstatement that is needed as we begin the process. The Core Values
\nstatement will replace the school’s current Mission Statement as part of the
\nprocess. The high school accreditation group will have their first
\nmeeting on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School
\nLibrary. This time coincides with the regularly scheduled School Council
\nmeeting. We are seeking input from everyone; teachers, parents, students,
\nand members of the wider Hanover community. Please consider attending!<\/p>\n

The following explanation is taken from accreditation
\nmaterials:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
"In order to create an effective school culture that
\npromotes improved learning for all students, schools must first identify a set
\nof core values and beliefs about learning that will function as explicit
\nfoundational commitments to students and the community. Once the school has
\nestablished its core values, beliefs, and learning expectations it can take
\nsteps to ensure they are actively reflected in the culture of the school and
\ndrive curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices in every classroom. As
\nwell, the school can use the core values, beliefs, and learning expectations to
\nguide the school’s policies, procedures, decisions, and resource
\nallocations."<\/p>\n
