2019 Future Celtics Program

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Cardinal Cushing Centers is proud to be chosen as a host site for the 2019
Future Celtics Program.

Beginning in January, the Future Celtics Program is a six-week program for
children with intellectual disabilities enrolled in grades three to five.
The program is designed to help participants develop their basketball game
through skills, drills and leadership training. The skills and drills are
all designed by coaches of the Boston Celtics and help challenge
participants in measurable ways over the course of four weeks. After
attending one of the Future Celtics clinics where they learn directly from
Celtics players, participants continue to improve their skills at their
home gym. The players track their skills on official Jr. Celtics Score
Sheets and data is reported back to the Celtics. They are challenged
through these clinics to improve their skills for a chance to come to a
Celtics Basketball Game as a Future Celtics All-Star.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Boston Celtics,”
said Cushing’s Vice President of Development, Jansi Chandler. “We
appreciate all the Boston Celtics and TD Bank have done for us, from
renovating our Recreation Center to including us in this wonderful
program.”

The Cardinal Cushing Centers Future Celtics program will be held on
Saturday mornings from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in their school gym, located
at 405 Washington Street in Hanover. For more information or to sign up,
please contact Tom McElman at 781-829-1295 or tmcelman@cushingcenters.org.

Cardinal Cushing Centers, Inc. is in the business of changing lives. A
non-profit organization founded in Hanover, MA in 1947, Cushing Centers
began as a day and residential school for students with intellectual
disabilities. With additional locations in Braintree, Cushing now supports

Support our local cable station TODAY

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This just in! Act TODAY! Support Hanover’s local cable station! This
affects our community, our children, and education, government and public
access. For some time now, there has been a push by the cable providers to
cut the way they determine gross revenue and funding to cable access
stations. According to Hanover’s cable access folks, if this should pass,
there could be a devastating effect on the funding of community media
stations. The Alliance for Community Media New England Region has a page on
their website dedicated to this issue
(http://acm-ne.org/federal-assault-on-local-media/).

Please take a moment TODAY to comment through this link
https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/proceedings?q=name:((05-311)) regarding why
community media is important and how this rule could have a lasting impact
on our local cable station. It will take all of 5 minutes. Click on the
link, click on +express in the upper right, and it will take you to the
form for your comments.

The deadline for comments is Wednesday, November 14, 2018. For more
information, please contact Hanover Station Manager Colleen Smith at
csmith@hanoverctv.org .
