PREP’s Hanover Mall development plans meeting POSTPONED

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

PREP has announced that they are NOT hosting a meeting for Hanover
residents at the Hanover Mall in the former JC Penney space on Thursday –
April 26th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. as previously announced. The
meeting is postponed to a later date.

PREP will soon update everyone on the status of the retail redevelopment as
well as representatives from Hanover Co. will speak about the proposed
multi-family apartment development.

PREP understands there are many questions about when the retail
transformation will begin and questions/concerns about the multi-family
development and hopes that as many citizens and Hanover town board members
can attend this meeting when it is re-scheduled.

For more information, please contact Lisa Berardinelli at

Hanover Woman’s Club Juniors to host Candidates Night

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Candidates Night, sponsored by the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors, will take
place on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in the large meeting room at
the Hanover Town Hall, 550 Hanover Street.

Candidates Night is an annual event that features candidates running for
office in Hanover. The program will consist of a short presentation by
each candidate running for a town office followed by a question and answer
period led by moderator Carol Mattes. The forum is open to the public and
gives those attending a chance to hear the views of the candidates on
important issues affecting the town and to ask questions of those
candidates. Hearing the candidates in this setting will give town
residents the opportunity to cast an educated vote on May 12th during the
town elections. With ten open positions for town offices it should prove
to be a lively and informative meeting and it is hoped that many residents
will attend.

For more information, please contact Mary Anne Cirino at
thecirinos@netscape.net .

What are video games doing to your kids?

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I am delighted to present another survey from another couple of budding
Hanover student leaders. These kids learn quick – after seeing the great
response David Adams got last week to his survey posted here on ATOTW!
Thanks in advance for supporting these Hanover High seniors by spending
just a few moments on their humanities project, as described below:

“Hi,

My name is Jackson Rowland. My partner, Evan Suchoff, and I are currently
working on our senior humanities project. We want to know what adults think
video games are doing to children, and we would like to collect as many
responses as possible. We have a quick ten question survey that won’t take
more than a minute or two. Thank you so much for your help!

Here is the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NHXYTCP\

Vacation Week Puppet Show at John Curtis Library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Vacation Week Puppet Show at John Curtis Library

Pumpernickel Puppets will present “Peter Rabbit” at the library on
Thursday, April 19 at 3:00 p.m.

For nearly forty years, the Pumpernickel Puppets have captivated audiences
of all ages with humorous and colorful adaptations of classic folk and
fairy tales. John McDonough and his puppets present over two hundred fifty
shows a year at schools, libraries and private parties throughout the New
England area.

Pumpernickel Puppet shows are presented with a cast of colorful puppet
characters, audience participation, live voices and sound effects and fast
paced scripts that not only entertain, but stimulate children’s imagination
and creativity. A demonstration period follows every performance giving the
audience some insight into what happens behind the scenes.

The program is funded by the Friends of the Library. Please register online
from the Calendar section of the library’s website. For more information
call 781-826-2972, extension 4, or email the children’s librarian at
lcampbell@ocln.org.

Support a Hanover High student

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I always love it when Hanover High students connect to you via “Around Town
on the Web”. The following e-mail is no exception – especially since the
young man who wrote it is so excited about the political process…and he
has connected with me, the woman who runs Hanover’s elections! Read on for
a kind request from one of Hanover’s future leaders:

“Hello,

I am a Senior from Hanover High School, and I am asking for your help on my
humanities project, a final capstone project for the end of the school
year. As part of my project, I am putting together a poll of people’s
political opinions, and that is where I need your help. I have linked a
google form to this email. If you could take just 3 minutes out of your day
to fill out this survey, it would be extremely helpful to my project. Thank
you in advance for your help!

You can access the survey here
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScBdF5qSpKy9PUZKTRZTfeaeoBm3EeaojwC-6c8krtUQOgsgA/viewform
.

-David Adams”

Please join me in supporting David with his humanities project! 3
minutes…that’s all it takes! Thanks!
