Pi Day challenge in Hanover

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

There are some rather talented mathematicians at Hanover
High School these days.  This is probably of no surprise to many of
you.  Add that to the fact that this Saturday, March 14th is
also known as Pi Day, and the results can be both challenging and fun!

Thanks to Scott Hutchison, HHS math teacher, who sent me the
link www.pidaychallenge.com .  Here is a brief description taken directly from
the site:

“March 14th is a
fantastically mathematical day.  Pi Day. Accept the challenge.  The
Pi Day Challenge is a series of puzzles that are logic-based.  A team of
logicians adapted or created these puzzles – some require research, some
require mathematics, some require pure savvy.”

After having tried the challenge, I will also tell you that
the puzzles require patience!  Are you up for the challenge?  Check
it out!  Now, if that doesn’t sound like something to shout from the
rooftops of Hanover, I am not sure what else should be.  J
