New wrestling program for middle schoolers

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Hanover Youth Athletic Association is pleased to offer an 8
week, 16 session youth wrestling program for students in grades 5-8.  No
previous wrestling experience is needed.  The focus of the program is to teach
the fundamentals of wrestling and allow your child to experience the thrill of
a competitive sport that teaches them skills like body control, body awareness
and quick reaction that will help your child excel in other sports such as
football, soccer, track and much more.

The
program begins on December 3, 2010 and runs through February 6, 2011 at
the Hanover Police Boys Club located behind the John Curtis Free
Library.  Sessions will be held on Friday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
and Sundays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  The program will be geared toward
students in grades 5-8, but younger students may be allowed to enroll if space
permits.  Cost for the program will be $100 for the 16 sessions.  Wrestlers
will need to provide their own headgear, wrestling shoes and singlet.

Coaching
will rely on volunteers from the community.  If you are interested in helping
to coach, please contact Peter Frank at the e-mail address below.  No coaching
experience is necessary.  As the season progresses, they may participate
in local/regional wrestling tournaments depending on the interest in the
program.  They will also bring in guest coaches to assist in teaching more
advanced wrestling concepts.  On-line enrollment will be available from
November 1st through November 26th at www.hyaa.net
and in-person registrations will take place at the Middle School
Cafeteria on November 9th and November 16th from
7:00 – 8:30 pm.  More information regarding the program is available at http://www.hyaa.net/wrestling. php

For
any questions, please contact Peter Frank at pc.frank@comcast.net
.  HYAA looks forward to this exciting new program and hopes to see you
there.  HYAA is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides sports
programs to Hanover’s youth from grades K through 8.
