Dear fellow Hanoverians:
I was delighted to realize today that the Hanover High School Swim Team is
now in its 6th year of existence despite being a completely self-funded
sport. That’s an amazing track record of fundraising, and Hanover’s own
Coach Barb Toohey deserves much of the credit. In fact, the swim team has
grown so big that the previously combined Hanover-Rockland team is now two
separate teams and the Hanover team carries 40 swimmers! Barb sent along
the following e-mail today that I am just thrilled to forward to ATOTW
readers:
Just passing along the info on the Hanover and Rockland High School
Swim/Dive Teams Fundraiser on Saturday, Jan 22nd at the Harmon Golf Club
from 7:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Even though we have split into 2 separate teams
we are doing this fundraiser jointly.
As most of you know, the swim team is still a self funded sport at the high
school and must raise all the money needed to cover their expenses each
season. This fundraiser is our biggest fundraiser of the season and we hope
you can join us and support the team! If you have any questions you can
contact Hanover High coach Barb Toohey at

We will have a DJ, light appetizers, a cash bar, a variety of raffle items
and silent auction items of sports memorabilia. It’s a fun night out to
support a great cause! Tickets are $15 per person and are available through
