Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Town of Hanover will be having a â??Hanover Beautification Weekâ??
beginning Saturday, April 30th and going through Saturday the 7th.
Hazardous waste will be accepted at the transfer station from 9:00
a.m. â?? 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th. The take-back day for
unwanted medicines will also be on April 30th from 10:00 a.m. â?? 2:00
p.m. at the new Hanover Senior Center. Brush (from our wild winter!)
is accepted weekdays at the Ames Way garage from 7:30 a.m. â?? 2:30
p.m., and special weekend hours apply both Saturday April 30th and
Saturday May 7th from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
Residents are hereby encouraged to take a walk anytime that week (or
join the Open Space Committee walk on the 30th) and clean up trash in
our town that has been inappropriately disposed of. My delightful
friend Dr. Wallace Kemp posed this thought for the day, â??Does trash
in the street affect the value of my home?â?? Please take care when
walking on busy streets to pick up trash, but if my experience is any
guide, busy streets are probably most in need of our attention to the
trash problem this year.
And finally, bulky unwanted items may be picked up thanks to the
Hanover DPW from Monday May 2 until Friday May 6th. Please contact the
DPW at 781-826-3189 to make prior arrangements.
All residents are encouraged to â??do their partâ?? to make Hanover
beautiful!
