Kindergarten School Bus Orientation at the JCL

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

On Thursday August 25th, the John Curtis Library will host its annual
school bus orientation for children who will be entering kindergarten.
Children are invited to come in at 10:30 a.m. to hear some stories
about kindergarten and riding the bus. At 11:00 a.m., the school bus
will arrive and children will get on board. The driver will talk to
them about bus rules, and then they will go for a short ride to both
elementary schools and back to the library.

Parents whose children have attended this program in past years say
that it is very helpful for those who have not ridden a school bus
before and may be a bit uncertain about it. Because of space
limitations, parents do not go along for the ride. An exception can be
made if a child is particularly anxious.

This is a drop-in event. For more information, please call
781-826-2972, extension 4, or e-mail the children’s librarian at
lcampbell@ocln.org
. Please forward this e-mail to anyone you know with a kindergartener
as the Mariner publicity has been delayed!
